Ocean warming means:
1. More powerful storms and hurricanes, leading to more destruction and loss of life.
2. Coral bleaching, which can devastate coral reef ecosystems and the animals that live in them.
3. Sea level will rise as ice caps melt due to warmer ocean waters and cause coastal flooding, damage infrastructure, and displace people.
4. There will be less oxygen for fish and other sea creatures, leading to a decrease in biodiversity and a decrease in the food supply for humans.
5. An increase in water-borne illnesses, such as cholera, that can spread to humans who come in contact with contaminated water.
What can be done? Limit greenhouse gas emissions and protect and restore coastal and marine ecosystems
